Mayer/Reed designed the interior and exterior signage for the major renovation of this 18-story federal office building. The modernization transformed the 1974 building into a LEED Platinum certified facility as part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) through the U. S. General Services Administration’s Design Excellence program. The building’s redesign brings in natural light and openness. Mayer/Reed’s signage design contributes to the lightweight, modern aesthetic with suspended stainless steel plates incorporating touchscreen terminals and digital directories and stainless steel letters floating on exposed concrete beams. A glass registry wall spanning the public lobby recognizes every person who contributed to the construction and design of the building.
